Owl’s Nest Park has a range of outdoor recreation features, including a playground, basketball courts, a baseball/softball field, benches, picnic areas, grills and a paved walking path. Trees on the grounds include bald cypress, oaks, hickories, maples, dogwoods, spruces and hackberries; the park is also home to birds, squirrels and insects.

Dogs are welcome on leash. There are no public restrooms at the park, and the Owl’s Nest Pavilion is no longer in use. The basketball courts and baseball/softball field are maintained and reserved through the Cincinnati Recreation Commission, so check with the relevant park or recreation authority if you are planning to use those facilities.

What is the park’s history?

Two historic entryway columns remain at the Madison Road entrance. The original ornamental wrought-iron fence was dismantled during World War II. These features connect the park’s present-day entrance with its early history as land donated by the Perkins family.

The family’s gifts expanded the original park acreage over time. The history also explains the name: “Owl’s Nest” was the name given to the Perkins homestead by the donors’ parents.
